This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use mariebags.com, why, and what choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

  • Details you give us: name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered.
  • Messages you send us, for example through the contact form or by email.
  • Technical information when you visit the site, such as IP address, device and browser type and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not store your full card number. Payments are handled by our payment providers.

2. Why we use it

  • To process and deliver your order and to send order and delivery updates.
  • To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and complaints.
  • To keep the store secure and prevent fraud.
  • To meet legal and tax obligations.
  • To improve the site. We only send marketing emails if you have asked for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the services we need to run the store: our online store platform (Shopify), our payment providers, delivery carriers and fulfilment partners, and email and analytics tools if we use them. These providers may be located outside Australia, for example in the European Union and the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell your personal information.

The site uses cookies that are needed for the cart and checkout, and may use others for statistics. You can block cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the store may then not work.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as the law requires, and other information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct it. Email info@mariebags.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handled a privacy matter, you can complain to us first and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
